The Homeless Come From All Walks Of Life

When it comes to the homeless there are so many stereotypes bandied about and assumptions made which are just not accurate. When you talk about the homeless, a lot of people will shake their heads and offer no sympathy, assuming that the homeless are all alcoholics or drug addicts who have no one to blame but themselves for their dire situation. However, this really is not the case and we are all only a few steps away from becoming homeless ourselves.

Who Are The Homeless?

Answering that question really is impossible – the homeless are everyone. They are just like us. There is no cross section of society which cannot be found amongst the homeless. Some are young runaways; some mothers or grandmothers who have lost their home and found it difficult to cope; some used to be top executives working in the city and some spent their lives in care and found it difficult to cope.

Basically, when it comes to the homeless you cannot make assumptions and it would be wrong to do so. What these people need is love, compassion and a helping hand to get back on their feet, after all, many of them were once like you and circumstances can catch us all unawares. Wouldn’t you like to think that you would be shown compassion should your life take a turn for the worse?
